Plot Twist Season 1

I have purchased three of the Plot Twist decks now, such a fun find! I gifted season 1 and then purchased 1 and 2 for myself. The cards include the genre, a 2-3 sentence describing the book and why it was chosen, number of pages, audiobook length, year published, if it's part of a series or not, and "book feel". After you scratch the card it displays the title, author and QR code that brings you to the Plot Twist site that displays the book and links to where you can buy it or Libby. In this deck, the books are from 2001 or more recent. There are 5 thriller genre, 4 sci fi, 4 romantasy, 4 romance, 4 mystery, 4 historical fiction, 4 fantasy and 7 contemporary/literary fiction. It's a quality item, would definitely recommend!

Great anyone that has problems with deciding on what to read

I would have given this 5 stars because I think this is a neat idea, but when I opened the box to take a closer look at the cards, the box detached from the box cover. It's nothing a bit of hot glue can't fix, but I would hate to have given it to someone and have the lid fall off when they opened it. The lid closes with a magnetic closure.That said, the box contains 8 sets of book recommendation cards spanning different genres of fiction: Contemporary/Literary fiction, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Horror, Mystery, Romance, Science Fiction and Thriller. There are between 3 and 7 cards per category with most of them having 4 suggestions. The idea is that you read the teaser on the card and choose the one that sounds intriguing before you scratch off to reveal the title.Each card includes a teaser, page count, length of audiobook, year of publication, if it is part of a series and the "book feel." Most of the books were published between about 2010 and 2022, though there are a few outside of this range, like a mystery book from 1936 that is clearly an Agatha Christie. I think it's good that most of these book are more recent. Anyone can compile a list of classic books, but might not be familiar with more recent options.

Got this as a gift and I love it!! Guessed about 10 right and now when im itching to add something to my ever-growing TBR I pick a random one. So fun guessing! Cant wait to get the 2nd stack.

What a fun way to choose your next read! This really helps me to find something after falling into a book coma due to a big read. I’ve read some great books I might not have chosen otherwise. Paired with Kindle Unlimited, accessing books is easy. I loved the idea of this so much, I gifted a second one for my book-loving sister while she’s in Alaska. Love it!

Bought this as a gift for my mother in law! She absolutely loves it for her book club. The variety is great and they like that it is books that they wouldn’t normally pick.

The Book game was very interesting to see. I thought it be a lot bigger versus smaller. My friend was very interested. It’s a great present for For people who like books, and like to test their knowledge

As a published author of over 40 books, I love the idea of this product. It covers numerous genres as well as a decent range of publishing dates.I do wish it had more selections for each genre, because if you’re a voracious reader, it won’t take long for you to go through the deck.Also, if there are some genres you’re not interested in (ie. Horror) then there will be cards you’ll likely never use which seems like a waste.It would be better if they sold packs of all the same genre as well as a variety pack.But again, I’m being nit picky, it’s still an awesome product, made with good quality (thick) plastic material!

My wife read 127 books in the 2023 calendar year. Some were described as great, others not so much and many in between. Her hardest part in reaching her goal of reading over 100 books was picking them out. The first few months were easy - check the librarians' recommendations, check Amazon recommendations, ask friends, etc. But after about April, she struggled to find her rhythm in picking books. This not only took the guess work out of it, but it made it fun for her to continue selecting books - and (added bonus) the books she's read because of this have all been enjoyable so far! Highly recommend.

I absolutely love this. I tend to stay close to a couple of genres so this is an exciting way for me to explore genres I'm not as familiar with.

I have to admit to don't stray outside my reading comfort zone at all. I stick to what I know and very rarely look elsewhere.When I saw this, I thought, this would give a chance to see some new books.I'm definitely going to give this a chance.Fingers crossed this gives some good suggestions. With 36 options, I'm hoping there are some books that are interesting enough I will try to read.
